The best weapon Satan has is not fear

It's not fear...it's instead a gradual patience to erode "the normal" stuff in life that used to be good. Apathy. Complacency. That we have enough, that we are full, that things are always geting a little bit better. It's true if you think about it. Think where our language on television was just TEN years ago. Bart Simpson was a menace and a threat to family values. Now he's tame, family values type stuff. Beavis and Butthead sank into society and became "acceptable" ...primarily because they stopped making new episodes. Southpark is (UGH!!!) becoming the NORM for language in our CHILDREN! Bill Clinton's numerous affairs in the previous 8 years became the normal standard for television plots on comedy/drama shows. What a lovely 8 years!! (I would like to remind us all myself included that we as a collective have failed to stand up. We cannot blame just the writers alone, but ourselves too for failing our children) Now may I quietly remind those what Jesus said about this issue,... "Whoever corrupts one of these little ones; it would be better for him to have a large millstone tied to his neck and him thrown into the river." Violence, sex and language on tv and even newspapers has gradually increased in vulgarity and that is one way Satan likes to make a BIG takeover. He knows a frontal attack is too suspicious, so he works his fingers into the very core of our existences. Remember, he's been doing this for 6,000 years.

If ever there's a time to pray it's now.. that is, if we care.

Our nation has become so adept at saying "oh pooh, I don't believe you or that spiritual warfare stuff" and so engrossed in complacency and apathy, it really IS a sleeping giant. So what do we pray for, or what do we do? First, we need to recognize what is going on. Then, we need to determine IF we really want to stand up and fight. Remember, THIS particular battle is not against flesh and blood, but of spirit and of principality. Principalities meaning, just because you tell the spirit "Begone in the name of Jesus" he's just going to go away. Jesus said this kind "Goes but by fasting and praying". There's big ones and little ones, just like you and I. If a spirit or stronghold (principality) has a legal right to stay, i.e., there is a lifestyle of sin that a person is holding onto and not giving over to Jesus, that spirit has a right to stay. Same with strongholds and principalities, ESPECIALLY in the media and our news, and our television, because we have allowed it to be there. We have not stood up to Hollywood and said "We will NOT stand for this! This is unacceptable behavior." but have said "Oh, let's just put ratings on them." In other words, it's going to take perseverance if we want to retake this country for Christ. Are we ready for it? Probably not. I don't think most Christians have the courage to encounter the spiritual realm in some of the dire ways that the devil can and will attack us with. I sincerely doubt I will live to see the revival of the church in America, (and I am not yet 30!) seeing signs and miracles in everyday life, seeing people made well from their sickbeds and deathbeds, seeing people raised from the dead... and I sincerely SINCERELY hope I eat these words as I'm wrong. We Shall See.

Now begins World War 3?

A warning to today's article is that it, except for the above link, is purely SPECULATIVE.

Today Britain's Tony Blair announced that they would be going against the Taliban, using air raids, and whatever other means necessary to remove the unelected Taliban government. It makes me wonder just how far this is going to go. NATO has invoked Article 5, stating that an attack from abroad is an attack on all of NATO, but it has yet to be determined who is joining this battle, from NATO.

I watch a lot of Hal Lindsey, and I have thoughts of my own. I'm not a yes-man or a ditto-head. Rush is not always right. When it comes to terrorism, Fear is all wrong. I wonder if we are rushing headlong into World War 3? Sure it doesn't look like it at first, but what it really *IS* going to eventually boil down to,...is religion. Let's look at it this way -- Islam (at least they claim only the fundamentalists) hates America and Israel. Arab BIG OIL pays terrorist efforts and supports their families for those who die. We are trying to make a coalition WITH the countries that have harbored terrorists? 

( Whacks the newspaper against the side of the governments head) 

HELLO!!!!! WAKE UP!!! Stop poking the sleeping bear!!!! Iran is not our friend. Afghanistan is not our friend. Libya is not our friend. Nor is Iraq!! Much of Pakistan is leary of us. These countries are not to be trusted to just "stand back and watch" while we bomb the crud out of their unholy government. I EXPECT Iraq and possibly Iran and Libya to try some sneak attack on not only America but American troops and Israel. That's my theory, but I can't prove it.

It's just that this thing can escalate so fast once we do actually attack the Taliban. What will happen? Will we or our allies be hit again? Will the terrorists launch a nuclear attack? Biological? Or have they already accomplished their goal.

Another thing I am GREATLY concerned about, and you should be too, is the quickly eroding freedoms that are disappearing in America due to the World Trade Center Tragedy. We're letting our fears overwhelm us. At what cost do you want to be secure? A cast-iron cage in a bunker? Sounds like a prison. Do we WANT the terrorists fear objective to win over us? Certainly not! We're not going to be looking over our shoulders every 2 seconds wondering if there's a bomber behind us or in a taxi. We have, even in a depleted force, the greatest military might in the world. We know who are enemies are and we will stop them. Lives will be lost, but that is what happens in war. There is no such thing as a peaceful war. Duh.

The Effect of Migraines

Tonight's column I'm going to try to make more fun out of -- more conversation-like. Just a warning to those who are psychosomatic, i.e, those who are easily suggestive to sicknesses, please don't read tonight's column, skip ahead to tomorrow's.

Yesterday I had a migraine. It's kinda typical for me, considering how it came about. I have been dwindling down on resources all week, and having a caffeine addiction when that is happening is NOT a splendid idea. Nevertheless, my withdrawal kicked in full force midday yesterday. I went to take some ibuprofen, but as I went to take a bite of food, to coat my stomach, I already knew -- it was too late. Nausea was already kicking in, and I couldn't down the food. I forced myself into bed, with the fan going full force on me, even though I was shivering. I laid there for a while and finally managed a nap, where I felt good enough two hours later to quickly down some cheese to coat my stomach, and swiftly down 4 ibuprofen. 2 hours later it still hadn't helped enough so I took 2 more, teh maximum amount you're allowed to take. It SLOOOOOWWWLY took effect, and to make matters worse, my sinuses, heck my whole SENSES system decided to go on overload. Bad time for a fire to be started in the fireplace! The headache kicked right back in. Ughhh.

However, the Lord started speaking to me while I was in bed. I tried to lay still as not to move my head. I started thinking about my pain, and what might be causing it. I know a teaching by pastor Henry Wright in Thomaston, Georgia, teaches that basically, chemically, a migraine is caused by what I'll simplify as a "conflict in a conflict". Medically, it's the attempt of some brain tissue to expand where there's no room, hence the pain. Psychologically, it's the result of stress or pressure from the outside world intruding in, and causing a flaring of the brain somewhat, although I'm not a medical expert, and the way I describe it could be refuted.

Anyway.

The Lord started speaking to me about worship. I know that when we are in pain, the least thing we want to think about is giving praise to God, and at first it certainly wasn't the first thing on my agenda. But I was reminded of an old Mike Warnke comedy routine goes something like this.. "so I'm on stage all covered with bandages and a sling on my arm, and crutches, and I'm saying 'I'm a servant of the Lord, and look what it's done for me!'" So He's impressing me to worship Him anyway. At this point, I could hardly move, and my 3 year old nephew was in the room, trying to go to sleep, so I couldn't blast any music, so I had to wait, but I did eventually do so, listening to "Passion: The road to One Day" out on the computer..(HIGHLY recommended)... I started to feel a little bit better.

Before I did so, I believe God showed me a way to try praying for others.. (certainly not "religiously" but in faith).. a group of 6 people, 3 alternately praying, 3 singing praise songs to God, praying over a sick person. Ironically, it was brought about by the memory of a Star Trek Voyager episode where Chakotay (if you watch the series you know what I'm talking about, if not, hang on, I'll try to explain) was trapped on a planet with ex-borg who had discovered that with a new small collective, they could rapidly heal theire wounded. It was the same concept, but in a Christian way...no neural transceiver hooked up between the borg, hehe, just something better! The Holy Spirit! I know myself, I have a heart of worship, and if I was laid up in the hospital, the first thing I would want is my church friends to come in and sing and pray to God, whether or not I get well again -- it would lift my spirits. That and the more the merrier lifting me (or someone else) up to the Lord in not only petitioning, but in first of all, PRAISE to God.

So that is what I am going to see if I can get together, pray about it, and see if it was the Lord, or just myself, personally I think it would be a grand witnessing opportunity in hospitals, but I certainly want to pray about it and see what The Lord says. If you feel the Lord says "Go ahead" go do it in your area too! I know people would be uplifted by it!

The Sun Begins to Set

In the last few days there has been a big hubub about security, that most people would trade a lot of their freedom for more security. I personally think Colin Powell is being too much of a wimp. He is of course (as much as I like the guy) partly responsible for leaving Saddam Hussein in power in Iraq from the 1991 Gulf War. Saddam is rumored to have helped the terrorists you know? Anyway,... 

While I am all for knowing that me and my family are secure in our homes without the threat of terrorism, lets look at a few things.

--We were caught with our pants down yes..

--We were ready to strike as soon as we knew what was going on (orders to shoot down the plane in Pennsylvania)

--The nation is on high alert right now

I DON'T think we are going to have any more bombings for a while, until things simmer down again -- unless we have a lot of traitors out there. I think it is safe to assume to go on with our everyday lives....

Unless we are now part of the final days?

I've been noticing a drastic change in the tone of America. People uniting, newfound patriotism in most places, high tension in others. Mostly though, in one accord. However, let ME be a little paranoid here for a moment. Now, I am all one for debunking the "oh, my!! we're going to be beheaded RIGHT NOW and put into labor camps like in WW2!" and cautioning to just chill out... But I can easily see how a spiritual revival at this point in time could actually trigger the opposite in America, whereas the public, afraid of another religious fanatacism, would actually ban or worse, persecute the Christian church. Would this happen under Christian President George W Bush? I don't know. Of course, I know I am SUPPOSED to say "of course not!" but I don't know that. He's a great guy, I voted for him, I fully support him,....but things happen. 

The rapture could happen today, tomorrow, before I finish this column. WHEN it happens, I know George will be gone too, as will I. That means this country will have lost it's Christian leadership. I fear for what happens then, and it's so freaky, my mind blanks when I try to think about it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, be cautious and pray. Stand against the National Identity badge the goverment wants to enforce upon us in the wake of the WTC tragedy. Refuse to be terrorized, by terrorists or by subleties of the US Government.

First off, I want to apologize if anyone's submission is not seen on the front page: I was late in getting the pages to the Archives, and keeping THIS page flowing well. You can also submit to the new Guest Book (I'll have a real Forum up soon) as well, and if you like, can post your message on a separate page with link to it on either the right of this screen. Fortunately, I now have 2 weeks free (kinda) to do that, so it is looking a bit tighter. That and the page tends to crash if I keep editing it so long in length... =D
